I heard back from The Crucible yesterday, and it sounds like we'll be running DDI at the Fire Arts Festival in Oakland next month, pending approval from the fire marshall. They seem to think they'll be able to convince OFD to let us do this, and if anyone can do it, they can.

Tue, June 14, 2005 - 12:03 AMhey - if the winner of Octahedral Green (300) hasn't picked it up by then, I'd like to borrow it for the FAF. I'll be teaching my LED class that weekend, and I'd like to display it in amongst the light art schtuff.
If it's already gone then I'll start another :) -

I believe the green one is at Ian's place in SF, soon to be delivered to the winner... -

Tue, June 14, 2005 - 12:54 PMYes and no. We certainly will be upfront about where we got the money. Now that we have our own dialogue started with the crucible, there's no reason to shy away from explaining that we're hugely BORG2 supported and funded.
In the beginning, when I talked to the crucible peepz, they seemed annoyed with BORG2 for not picking up the ball on the FAF stuff. Maybe that's settled down by now..? Who knows.
Is there a specific way to "do it in the name of borg2" that you were thinking of, other than perhaps listing it in our bio and/or putting it on a sign or something? -

I would just let him know you are affiliated and we have played a big roll in you accomplishing your goals. Shit - we didn't even "officially" close during burning man until last year I think. I guess someone figured out that since we were ALL gone to the desert anyway, why fight it? :^D
