DDI get you laid?

A friend of mine - whom you all may know - who is on the DDI 'team' insists that DDI has never gotten him laid.
I find this difficult to believe, as DDI has gotten _me_ laid, and I'm not even involved.
Is he being modest?

    DDI has actually prevented me from getting laid on more than one occasion.

      I'd have to go with Ian on that one. DDI had a pretty good part in destroying a relationship where I was previously getting quite satisfactorily laid.

      Besides which, "I built DDI -- wanna fuck?" doesn't work quite as well as one might initially suspect.

        I tried the "I built part of DDI ---Wanna fuck?" and that deffinately didn't work either.

    That's such bullshit. If it's the person I'm thinking of, it most certainly has gotten him laid.

    It has never gotten me laid.

    In fact, it has gotten me un-laid, if that's possible. The 8 days I spent on the playa, without my honey, were not days I was getting laid. Or nights.

    OK, I appreciate you not kissing and telling, but can expound a bit? Did you meet him or her at the game? Was it just something you had in common and it took off from there? We must know!

      yeah....

      But I distinctly remeber you telling me that during your eight days on the playa you were on sex restriction,
      So I'm thinking you might not have been trying to get laid, so that does not count according to my rules.

    I'll echo Jonathan and Ian. During construction and on-playa time (in 05), DDI helped to destroy or at least temporarily disable quite a few friendships and my relationship with Ian. Then again, it was already pretty damn broken, DDI was kind of like nasty arsenic-laced icing on the stale cake. (Love ya, Ian!)

    But, my emotional connections to DDI could take up an entire novel. I'm not really the best person to ask. It kind of destroyed my life for a while, and I still occasionally shudder due to the flashbacks.

    I just watched a movie about a girl who gets brainwashed by a cult in India. It reminded me of my own cult dabbling, and it reminded me of DDI. You all do realize it's a cult, right? And there is a world beyond DDI? I'm just saying. Despite its being a cult, that hasn't stopped me from occasionally pimping myself by mentioning my involvement.

    However, I find that directly saying "I built DDI" turns people off. Having a friend or lover say "Hey, she built DDI!" and being all embarassed and shy about it works way better. Something about humility that attracts folks. Or at least attracts the folks worth attracting...

      Your friends (or, better yet, strangers) selling you is way more compelling than selling yourself. I mean, anybody can think they're the shit. It's getting OTHER people to think you're all that that's the trick.

      Yeah, I can't say that I wasn't laid when I was with DDI on the playa --- but then again, I get laid most of the time anyway :)

    I'm amending. DDI did get my laid. Hell, it got me laid for the rest of my life. I met my husband while camping at DDI. He was in ye olde dome next door - Hookahdome. If I hadn't been w/ DDI, I wouldn't have been on Esplanade, or at the event early, and these were vital factors in us meeting. Yay for DDI! yay for love!

        i think these latest posts are missing the point. yeah, that's really sweet that you met your true love while camping with ddi, or if you hadn't be there, you wouldn't a met someone who knew someone who introduced you to someone. that's nice, but not nearly as interesting as "you look hot in that flight suit, and well, i think my panties might be synthetic and flammable should i take them off?" give us something juicy please. enough mush.

          I've now slept with someone who I knew found me significantly more attractive because of DDI. Needles to say, she's a pyro.

          I think we're taking the wrong approach here, though. I think DDI needs to roll on the play as a crew more often, crusin' the esplanade in flight suits and saying, "Hey cutie, come with us, we're fireproof!"
